27.09.2017 | MedINA invited to contribute to the official event organised by KIPA on the Kythera and Antikythera hiking trails

The Kytherian Foundation for Culture and Development (KIPA) is organising an event on the hiking trails of the Kythera and Antikythera islands and their contribution to tourism, local sustainable development and the promotion of cultural heritage. The event will take place on the island of Kythera, 30th September at 17:00. It will include a short hike on one of the most recently created trails that connects Aroniadika to Kastrisianika where a short informative session will be held and an open discussion will be held. MedINA and the Panteion University European Centre for Environmental Research have been invited to contribute as speakers.

MedINA, in collaboration with KIPA, has already began working on the trails network by recording points of natural and cultural interest as well as by holding interviews with Kytherians. The collated information gathered from these activities will be used to enrich the network and give hikers the opportunity to better understand the story of each trail.

On the occasion of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation will be signed between the Kythera Municipality, KIPA, the Domestic Property Committee of Kythera and Antikythera and MedINA which will reflect the common intention of all parties to support the rehabilitation and further development of the Kythera and Anti Kythera hiking trails and the services they offer.
