Organized by Slow Food, the Region of Piedmont and the City of Turin, Terra Madre Salone del Gusto is an international gastronomy exhibition that takes places every two years in Turin, bringing together food producers and artisans from across the world. This year the exhibition took place from the 20 to 24 September.

Stefanos Dodouras from MedINA participated in the event, in the framework of the Terra Lemnia project and was accompanied by a practitioner from the island of Lemnos. They had the opportunity to taste a number of delicacies from across the globe, attend interesting cooking shows and workshops as well as discuss with the numerous participants that support in a variety of ways, from consumption to production, the Slow Food movement and its principles.

Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization, founded in 1989 to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions and raise awareness on the value of our food and impact of our food choices. Their vision is a world in which all people can access and enjoy food that is good for them, good for those who grow it and good for the planet.

Overall, this big and diverse event as well as the many exhibitors, presenters and attendees were an inspiration for MedINA and the Terra Lemnia project whose representatives left full of ideas, new friends and experiences.
