Projects

The Delos Initiative

The Delos Initiative focuses on sacred natural sites in developed countries, seeking to maintain both the sanctity and the biodiversity of these sites, through the understanding of the complex relationship between spiritual / cultural and natural values.

Cultural aspects of Mediterranean wetlands

Mediterranean wetlands, in spite of their natural and cultural significance, continue to be degraded and destroyed. Their cultural aspects need to be maintained and enhanced in order to reconnect people with wetlands and, thus, contribute to their conservation.

Conservation and management of Greek landscapes

The growing degradation of Greek landscapes mainly by urbanisation, large infrastructure construction works, intensive agriculture, mass tourism, unsustainable industrial development and most recently by climatic change impacts, made the need for immediate action imperative. Med-INA has long recognised the importance of sustainable landscape management, and has been trying to study and promote the conservation of landscapes in Greece and the Mediterranean through sound scientific research, public awareness strategies and encouragement of the participation of both public sector and consultation entities.
