INSPIRE Training Modules: Free online courses to empower rural communities

  • ΕΛ

The European project INSPIRE now offers 16 free online Training Modules, designed to strengthen skills, promote social inclusion, and support innovation and sustainable development in rural areas across Europe. The courses cover a wide range of topics, from social and rural entrepreneurship, the use of digital tools in rural areas, and artificial intelligence to mental wellbeing, community participation, and practical steps for developing Smart Villages.

The courses are hosted on the LearnX online learning platform of Koç University, a project partner. Participation is free, and each course can be followed independently, at any time and at the learner’s own pace. All courses are available in English, while selected modules are also offered in other languages, including Greek. A certificate is provided upon successful completion of each course.

For Greek-speaking audiences, the platform includes five Training Modules in Greek, covering topics closely related to the needs and challenges of rural, mountainous, and island areas:

  • Farm to market: strengthening digital skills of farmers for competitive marketing
  • Entrepreneurial competences for women-led rural innovation
  • Sustainable business development for farmers
  • Sustainable mountainous entrepreneurship: building greener and competitive businesses
  • Digital and transversal skills for climate-resilient farming on islands

The INSPIRE Training Modules are designed for a diverse range of people and professionals living or working in rural and remote areas, including farmers, producers and social entrepreneurs, as well as educators, researchers, organisations and representatives of local authorities.

For a first introduction to the Training Modules, interested users can watch a short introductory video. A Getting Started Guide in English is also available, together with a Greek version of the Guide, providing step-by-step instructions on how to register on the platform and begin the courses.

More information, access to the Training Modules, and the relevant Guides can be found here.
