MedINA to contribute to the 16th Conference of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE)

The 16th Conference of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) on Tourism and Development titled “Greek Tourism: The perfect balance act” will take place 16 and 17 October 2017 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. The conference will explore the dynamic role of tourism in contributing to environmental, economic and social sustainability.

The conference, through a combination of keynote speeches and roundtable discussions, will present international best practices on specific forms of tourism, analyse spatial planning issues and explore ways to increase the social footprint of tourism. Particular emphasis will be placed on the interconnection of tourism with the agro-food sector and its importance in creating comparative advantages for the Greek tourist product and by extension local communities.

Thymio Papayannis, Director of MedINA, has been invited to participate in a roundtable discussion titled “Vision and Reality” along with three other international speakers; Héctor Fernández Manchado, Managing Director of Tourismo Lanzarote, Frank Püttmann from the Corporate & External Affairs of the TUI Group and Aurora Dawn Reinke, Founder & CEO of Astrapto, facilitated by Babis Papadimitriou, journalist.
