MedINA sent a representative team to the Tour du Valat on 12-15 September, consisting of its director, Thymio Papayannis, and three members of its scientific secretariat, Nicos Georgiadis, Yorgos Melissourgos and Irini Lyratzaki to discuss potential cooperation between the two organisations on a number of activities.
On the first day of the visit, the two teams presented their respective organisations and current activities to an audience consisting of members of the Mediterranean Wetlands Observatory, the MedWet Initiative and the Tour du Valat. On the second day, both teams discussed possible areas of cooperation and agreed on an action plan. The last day of the visit was dedicated to the exploration of the wider area of the Camargue and its diverse landscapes.
The MedINA team would like to express its gratitude to the Tour du Valat for its warm hospitality and is looking forward to working together on common projects.
