MedINA successfully delivered the heritage interpretation workshop in Kythera

The training workshop on heritage interpretation, organised by MedINA at the premises of the Patrikia School of Karavas from 11 to 13 May 2018, has been successfully completed. Under the wise guidance of Valya Stergioti (Training Coordinator of Interpret Europe – the European Association for Heritage Interpretation), the 14 participants got familiar with the basic principles of heritage interpretation, learned the pertinent tools and, via a series of practical exercises, designed and carried out interpretive walks. Collective learning and substantive interaction were at the core of the training process and the participants had the opportunity to celebrate the diversity of Karavas’ natural and cultural heritage.

The seminar was held in the framework of Medina’s upgrading the trails network of Kythera project, which is implemented in cooperation with the Municipality of Kythera, the Domestic Property Committee of Kythera-Antikythera and the Kytherian Foundation for Culture and Development.

Many thanks are ought to Patrikia School of Karavas’ Board, as well as to Harry Tzortzopoulos and Pavlos Coroneos for their multilateral support.
