The new ambitious Horizon Europe project, titled Regional Inclusive Biobased Entrepreneurship Solutions (RIBES), has been launched to catalyse the transition from linear to circular economy by building innovation ecosystems for bioeconomy in nine European regions.

The official kick-off meeting took place in beautiful Trieste on the 21st of March at the headquarters of the Central European Initiative (CEI), which is coordinating the project. All 20 partners from 14 countries were gathered to discuss the overall scope and ambition of the project as well as go through each work package.

RIBES brings together a dynamic and diverse consortium, specialized in sustainable rural development, research, bioeconomy, circularity, and business management. The project will promote inclusive innovations in bioeconomy by developing novel governance and business models that integrate the principles of circular bioeconomy, social innovation, and rural development.

MedINA will be involved in all actions related to the Region of North Aegean, one of the nine participating regions. Central will be the initiation and coordination of a Multi-actor Transformative Forum (MTF), as an interface between the RIBES consortium and local communities in the region, with the aim of addressing local challenges and fostering innovative and inclusive circular bioeconomy transition.
