“Let it Flow!” is an innovative environmental education and capacity building project that aims to encourage students and teachers of the Aoos river basin to engage in the integrated protection of their rivers. The project is designed to contribute to the overall objective of maintaining the free flow of the Aoos River and its tributaries as a transboundary ecological corridor and resource for local community development.
The project has a 12-month duration and is led by MedINA in collaboration with the Environmental Education Centre of Konitsa (KPE Konitsas). It is funded by the European Green Belt Association through the BESTbelt project led by EuroNatur, with financial support of the European Union.
The heart of “Let it Flow!” is the development and wide dissemination of an environmental education curriculum based on a Role-Playing Game (RPG) that brings school students in the shoes of local stakeholders researching and discussing about the future of the Aoos river. The curriculum will be developed by MedINA in collaboration with KPE Konitsas, local school teachers and educators of the Secondary Education Directorate of Ioannina. It will be piloted by the schools of Konitsa, presented to local stakeholders, consolidated incorporating feedback from its pilot application, and widely disseminated at regional, national and transboundary scale (translated in Albanian for the latter purpose).
